Up ’til Dawn Eclipses $200,000 Goal for St. Jude Hospital

Up ’til DawnThe fundraising team for Up ’til Dawn recently learned that their letter-writing efforts have resulted in $200,868 in donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. This places them, once again, in the top money-raising spot for all of the universities across the nation so far this academic year. There is still some time before final numbers are in. Full Story

CSU, Chico Business Students Attend U.S. Air Force Academy Leadership Symposium

COB LeadershipOn Feb. 18, Dean Willie Hopkins, College of Business (COB), California State University, Chico, and four business students traveled to the U.S. Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs, Colo., to attend the 16th Annual National Character and Leadership Symposium. The symposium included presentations by speakers including CEOs of renowned nonprofit organizations such as the Make-a-Wish Foundation, decorated military personnel and NASA astronaut Guion Bluford Jr. More than 4,000 U.S. Air Force cadets and 200 visiting college students attended the three-day symposium. A Saturday program of Chinese language classes has been met with enthusiasm by parents and children of Chinese descent. In addition to learning Chinese, 31 children, from 5 to 12 years old, are gaining a basic understanding of Chinese cultural heritage. Full Story
