Colloquium Will Explore the Benefits of Altruism
The California State University, Chico College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSS) Faculty Colloquium will honor psychologist Daniel L. Worthen, co-author, with religious studies professor Andrew M. Manufacturing Students Win Top Award Again at WESTEC ‘08 Competition
California State University, Chico Manufacturing Technology Program won the Grand Prize at the prestigious WESTEC (Western Tool Exposition and Conference) Manufacturing Challenge for the fourth year in a row. Students in the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) designed and manufactured an off-road vehicle chassis and suspension system for the CSU, Chico Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Baja team. The challenge was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on March 31. Full Story

CSU, Chico Model United Nations Delegation Brings Home Top Award from National Conference
For the second time in two years, students participating in the Model United Nations (MUN) course at California State University, Chico won the top award at the national conference held in New York over spring break. The Chico delegation, representing Saudi Arabia, was named the Outstanding Delegation from a field of more than 290 schools. Full Story

Black Enlightenment & Success Training Series This Week
California State University, Chico’s Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is hosting the first Black Enlightenment & Success Training (BEST) Series this week. Malcolm McLemore, president of Kappa Alpha Psi, said the purpose of the event is to focus on improving knowledge, confidence, inspiration and unity among African American students, faculty, staff and community members.
McLemore said the series got off to a very successful start last evening with a discussion of issues facing black people in today's society. Full Story
