High-Achieving Students Compete for President's Scholarships

More than 260 high school students, some from as far away as Alaska, Washington and Idaho, will come to California State University, Chico, on Feb. 25 to compete for $132,000 in scholarships. This is one of the highest number of students competing since the program began 10 years ago. Full Story

Student Documentary on Northern Ireland To Be Previewed Wednesday

"When Hope and History Rhymed," a feature-length film on the peace process in Northern Ireland, filmed by a team of California State University, Chico students last summer, is being previewed on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 5 pm in Ayres 106. Full Story

Housing Honors Residents for Scholastic Achievement

University Housing and Food Services, California State University, Chico, is honoring first-time students for their high grade point averages during their first semester on campus, fall 2005. A scholastic dinner will be held on February 28. Kenneth Brooks, a resident advisor with an outstanding GPA for fall semester, will deliver the keynote address. Full Story

Natural History Walks on Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve Begin in March

The Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve plans a series of natural history walks this spring beginning on Sunday, March 5, and then continuing on March 12, 19, April 2, 16, 30 and May 7, 14, and 21. The walks in the reserve will last two hours, from 1 to 3 pm. Full Story
