Visiting Research Professor Receives Prestigious Franklin Award
Narain G. Hingorani, PhD, DSc, Visiting Research Professor at California State University, Chico, received the Bower Award for Achievement in Science from the Franklin Institute on April 27. Hingorani is an independent consultant from Los Altos Hills, Calif., who collaborates with Roy Crosbie, professor emeritus, College of Engineering, Computer Science and Construction Management, on a project in real-time simulation. Model United Nations Team Brings Home Honors
The California State University, Chico Model United Nations (MUN) team earned top awards at the National Model United Nations competition held in New York in April. The team has consistently performed well at the competition, and this year was no exception. The CSU, Chico team brought home two awards, which put them in the top 5 percent of competitors. CSU, Chico Hosts CSU Queer Studies Consortium Meeting
California State University, Chico is hosting the Third Annual CSU-QS Consortium Meeting: Queering Privilege, from Friday, April 7 through Sunday, April 9. The consortium meets annually to engage in discussion and participate in workshops related to issues pertaining to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex and queer studies on the CSU campuses. Anyone can attend, though the conference is aimed at university teachers, students and resource directors/coordinators. Full Story
