Students Raise Funds for Hurricane Relief Effort

Several student organizations at California State University, Chico have joined together to form the Chico State Hurricane Relief Coalition to raise money for the American Red Cross. Originally comprised of Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Nu and Alpha Phi organizations, the coalition has grown to include many other student organizations such as the Associated Students, Residence Hall Association (RHA), Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE) and the National Society for Black Engineers (NSBE). Portable Lab Provides Hands-on Education in Solar Electric Power

Mechanical engineering students are getting hands-on experience with solar electric power technology, thanks to a new portable photovoltaic power system lab. The lab is the brainchild of Professor Greg Kallio, chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering and Manufacturing Technology, and other faculty and students who saw the need for improved educational opportunities in renewable energy. Neuropsychologist to Address the Prevention of Complications in Sports-Related Concussions

The Pacific-Cascade Psychological Association (PCPA) will present Dr. David Lechuga, neuropsychologist and president of the California Psychological Association at their first fall meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 20. His lecture is titled "Use of Neuropsychological Testing to Prevent Complications Associated with Sports-Related Concussions in High School Athletes." Full Story
