P. Willey, a board certified forensic anthropologist, spent September and October in Iraq assisting in the identification of victims buried in mass graves. He is expected to return to Chico in the next few weeks. The work he did in Iraq will assist in the government's efforts to prepare for the trial of Saddam Hussein for war crimes. Full Story

Sam Edelman, professor of Jewish Studies, will discuss an independent Kurdish future on Tuesday, Nov. 16, in his talk "Between Iraq and a Hard Place: The Kurdish Quandary-When to Declare Independence." The third annual Chico Alumni Chapter Mixer, held on the eve of the Oct. 8-10 weekend, will kick off the three-day Alumni and Parents Weekend at California State University, Chico. Cindy Wolff, professor of Nutrition and Food Sciences at California State University, Chico and director of OPT (Overweight Prevention and Treatment) for Fit Kids, has been awarded a $5 million grant to expand the Sierra Cascade Nutrition and Activity Consortium (SCNAC) in the North State over the next three years.
