World Exploration Series Examines America's Earliest Cave Explorers

About 4,500 years ago in Tennessee, a group of nine Native Americans explored a complex portion of a cave that was not rediscovered until 1976. P. Willey, Department of Anthropology, California State University, Chico, will talk about his research on these early spelunkers in "Footprints of America's Earliest Cave Explorers" on Sunday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m., in Ayers 106. Special Education Program Receives Major Federal Grants

The Department of Professional Studies in Education at California State University, Chico has received two major federal grants totaling $2.3 million to support special education teaching. Local Youth to Take Care of Business at SIFE Entrepreneurship Camp

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) teams from California State University, Chico and Butte College will hold “Wise Kid, Wealthy Kid,” the Chico “Youth Entrepreneurship Camps” beginning Feb. 16 on the CSU, Chico campus. SIFE’s entrepreneurship camps are free to students grades 5-8, and will be separated into a younger camp for ages 9-10 and an older camp for ages 11-13. The camps will be run in a series of five Saturdays: Feb. 16, Feb. 23, Mar. 2, Mar. 9 and Mar. 16. Full Story

California State University, Chico’s School of Nursing is offering a 60-hour course in Sacramento for school nurses needing state certification to conduct audiometry testing. This five-day intensive course from Friday, Feb. 15 through Tuesday, Feb. 19 meets all requirements for the School Audiometrist Certificate issued by the State of California. Full Story
