University Offers Information for a Safe Spring Break

The Campus Alcohol and Drug Education Center (CADEC) at California State University, Chico will be informing students about high-risk drinking, dehydration, sunburn and alcohol poisoning at a table in the Free Speech area from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 15 to ensure all students have a safe spring break, March 19-23. German-Jewish Athlete Excluded from 1936 Berlin Olympics to Speak at California State University, Chico

In 1936, German-Jewish high jumper Margaret Lambert (nee Gretel Bergman), was denied a place on the 1936 German Olympic team because she was Jewish. On Tuesday, March 27, Ms. Lambert, now a U.S. citizen, will discuss her experiences in Nazi Germany at California State University, Chico, in a program sponsored by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in conjunction with CSU, Chico. The program is being offered in support of the museum's traveling exhibition, THE NAZI OLYMPICS Berlin 1936, on display at CSU, Chico through March 29, 2001. Full Story
