CSU, Chico Welcomes 44 New Faculty

California State University, Chico has hired 44 new tenure-track and eight full-time temporary faculty for the 2000-2001 school year. The new faculty, added to the 52 hired last year, brings the total for the two years to over a hundred. "We are clearly in a process of renewal," said President Manuel A. Esteban in his convocation speech delivered on August 17. Full Story

Lassen Volcanic Area Subject of Multiyear Archaeological Study

The first phase of a comprehensive inventory of Lassen Volcanic National Park archaeological resources has just been completed. The study was conducted between July 26 and August 16 as part of the California State University, Chico anthropology department's Archaeological Field School. Full Story
