Adrian D. Heideman Memorial Fund, Memorial Service, and Flag Lowering
The flag was lowered on Friday, October 13, on the California State University, Chico campus in honor of Adrian D. Heideman. Heideman, a student and a pledge of Pi Kappa Phi, died on October 7, 2000. Full Story

Announcing the Charles M. Price Sacramento Internship Program
On Thursday, October 19, a reception will kick off a campaign to raise funds for an endowment in the name of Professor Charles M. Price. All Chico alumni and others interested in supporting the effort are welcome to attend. California State University, Chico, Center for Regional and Continuing Education in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service (Northern California District) and the California Franchise Tax Board present the 2000 Tax Practitioners' Institute. The Institute will be held November 8-10 at CSU, Chico. Tuition for the 2000 Tax Practitioners' Institute is $350, which includes lunch and workshop materials ($330 if paid by November 2). Full Story

Mayor to Present Proclamation Naming October Janet Turner Month
A reception will be held on October 14 to kick off fundraising efforts for the remodeling of Colusa Hall on the campus of California State University, Chico. Colusa will house the new Janet Turner Print Collection and Gallery. Both the president of the university, Manuel A. Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity Suspended until Investigation of Student Death Complete
Based upon information known to the university at this time regarding the death of 18-year-old freshman Adrian D. Heideman, a student pledged to the Chico chapter of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, President Manuel A. Esteban, California State University, Chico, has ordered an immediate suspension of university recognition of the fraternity. The suspension of Pi Kappa Phi will be in place until concurrent investigations by the Chico Police Department, the university and the fraternity's national headquarters are completed. Full Story

Memorial Planned for Adrian D. Heideman
