FIPSE Funds European/United States Joint Collaboration in Computer Modeling and Simulation
The College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology, under the project direction of Roy Crosbie, is part of a consortium that has received a three-year Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) grant. The prestigious grant matches three U.S. and three European universities in the development of a graduate degree in computer modeling and simulation. Full Story

ComedySportz Show Comes to Chico
The California State University, Chico chapter of Delta Sigma Pi is pleased to welcome ComedySportz to Chico. The show will take place on Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Lincoln Hall at Chico High School. Two CSU, Chico Faculty Members Receive Bautzer Faculty Awards
Ken Derucher and Gail Corbitt received Bautzer Faculty Awards on October 16. Derucher has been the dean of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology since 1994. Corbitt has been a professor of Management Information Systems since 1990. Full Story

Russian Journalists Attending Media Advertising Program
The Office of International Programs at California State University, Chico will host a two and a half-week training program in "Association Building and Media Advertising. " The program is designed to strengthen the role of independent media in Russia by increasing the quality of advertising campaigns and to assist in the development of an effective association to support its members through training and lobbying. Participants will be exposed to several advertising styles which will assist them in defining the strategies and missions of their respective departments. The team of trainers is led by nationally renowned expert Fred Thorne, lecturer at CSU, Chico, and Michael Mears, CEO of Wisenheimers and former president of Breakthrough Communications. Full Story
