Men’s Basketball Highlights First Spring Homecoming
California State University, Chico is kicking off a spring homecoming celebration this Friday, Feb. 2, with two hospitality receptions sponsored by the Chico State Alumni Association at the men’s basketball game.
You are invited to the Chico State vs. Cal State Dominguez Hills men’s basketball game and to two receptions, one before the game beginning at 6:45 p.m., and one during halftime.
On Saturday, as part of the weekend celebration, there will be a Golden Grad luncheon for alums who graduated 50 or more years ago. Also on Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., the time capsules from 1937, 1947 and 1957 will be opened in the BMU atrium.
CSU, Chico has traditionally held Alumni and Parents Weekend on the same weekend. “In order to improve our programs for both alumni and parents,” said Sue Anderson, director of Alumni and Parent Relations, “each group will have their own dedicated weekend. Alumni Weekend is now officially called Homecoming in celebration of Chico State’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball. Parents Weekend will be Oct. 12-14, 2007.”
Tickets to the receptions and game are $10 each and include hors d’oeuvres, beverages and a seatback ticket to the 7:30 p.m. men’s game in Acker Gym. Tickets for the receptions only are available for $5 each. The receptions will be held in Shurmer Gym.
The receptions for the basketball game are sponsored by the Chico Chapter of the Chico State Alumni Association and are open to everyone (you need not be an alum). There are a limited number of tickets available.
