Fraternity and Sorority Members Coordinate Cleanup Day at Chico School

Approximately 100 California State University, Chico students who belong to Greek organizations have volunteered to clean up Notre Dame School, 435 Hazel St., tomorrow, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Besides cleaning the classrooms, the sorority and fraternity members will also be doing various jobs such as painting the bathrooms and tending to the surrounding grounds.

The project was planned because many sorority and fraternity houses are located near the school in central Chico, and the students chose the project to contribute positively to the relationship between CSU, Chico students and staff at the school.

"We are excited that they want to contribute," said Chris Seibert, principal of Notre Dame School. "I hope this is something we continue to do in the future."

Parents at the school will also be lending a hand by supervising the students during the cleaning process.

To support the project and thank the Greeks for their efforts, Chipotle Mexican Grill has donated certificates for a free meal to every sorority and fraternity member volunteering.
