Local Agencies Strengthen Community Response to Domestic Violence

CSU, Chico Continuing Education, in association with the Butte County Superior Court, Butte County Department of Employment and Social Services, Butte County District Attorney’s Office, Catalyst Domestic Violence Services, Butte Family Violence Prevention Council, Butte County Behavioral Health and the Judicial Council of California Administrative Office of the Courts, is proud to present the Butte County Domestic Violence Summit, Friday, June 24, 8 am - 4:30 pm, at the Chico Family Masonic Center, 1110 W. East Avenue, Chico.

The Butte County Domestic Violence Summit will provide professionals who work with children and families in crisis an opportunity to share best practices, participate in a service provider panel discussion, and allow input into a community action plan to address some of the key issues in the county.

The Domestic Violence Summit will feature special guest speaker Casey Gwinn, former San Diego City Attorney, who led the effort to open the nationally acclaimed San Diego Family Justice Center, a comprehensive “one stop shop” for services to victims of family violence. The Family Justice Center serves as a demonstration project for the nation in developing a coordinated approach to co-located services for victims of domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse and sexual assault.

The Summit meets the 4-hour domestic violence update requirement for court-appointed mediators and evaluators. Continuing education hours for MCEP, BBSE, BRN, MCLE, POST and STC may be available at the summit for an additional fee.

Registration for the Domestic Violence Summit is $20 and includes continental breakfast, lunch and materials.
