Fun Without Alcohol Fair to Promote Healthy Lifestyle for Elementary Students
The Campus Alcohol and Drug Education Center (CADEC) is slated to host its 15th annual Fun Without Alcohol Fair at the California State University, Chico Kendall Hall lawn on Thursday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., where more than 660 elementary students are expected to participate.
This year’s theme is “Leap into Lifeā¦Drug and Alcohol Free” in correlation with 2004 being a leap year. More than 60 booths are expected to be set up by campus and community organizations with the leap year theme in mind.
Local community representatives include the Chico Police Department, while the campus groups will include most Greek organizations that will be participating concurrently in Greek Week events.
The booths will feature games and activities aimed toward elementary school students to educate them on the alternatives of alcohol and drug use. A main stage area will also be set up to showcase entertainment throughout the day. The entertainment ranges from dance performances to magic and martial arts presentations.
For further information on this year’s Fun Without Alcohol Fair, please contact Rebecca Berner of CADEC at 530-898-6450.
