Bob Linscheid Selected as President of State Alumni Council
Bob Linscheid, president of Bob Linscheid and Associates, Inc., was elected president of the California State University Alumni Council at its June meeting at Sonoma State University. He will serve one year, with an option for a second year.
Linscheid has served three years on the state alumni council, two of them as vice president of government relations. In that role, he worked closely with the CSU Chancellor’s Office of Governmental Affairs. He was president of the board of the California State University, Chico Alumni Association from 1999 to 2001.
The state alumni council, representing two million alumni, promotes the educational and fund-raising aims of the CSU system and works to strengthen the relationship among the campus alumni groups.
The council gives alumni input to the CSU Board of Trustees and advocates for legislation on behalf of the system. It also works to promote professional development of alumni directors.
Linscheid said, “I look forward to sitting at the table with the trustees, the chancellor, the faculty and the student association to address matters that impact the CSU. This is the most challenging time in our history. It will be my job to help keep our eyes on the ball and continue to provide student access to the best educational system in the world.”
Sue Anderson, director of Alumni and Parent Relations, said, “I am so proud that Bob Linscheid is not only representing our university, but also the CSU alumni in California. We are facing tough times right now in the state, and I can think of no one better to advocate for our alumni than Bob.”
