Student Wins Award At Statewide Research Competition
California State University, Chico sophomore Ryo Chijiiwa from Cerritos was awarded runner-up at the 17th annual California State University Student Research Competition held earlier this month at California State University, Stanislaus.
Students from each CSU campus compete to represent their school in the competition. Chijiiwa competed against 11 other CSU student entries in the undergraduate engineering and computer science category.
Chijiiwa, a computer science major, was the only CSU, Chico student this year to win an award at the competition.
Chijiiwa’s presentation on his undergraduate research was titled “IlohaMail: A Multilingual Webmail System.” Webmail is a Web-based e-mail interface software that has been publicly released for use by people in different countries.
