Youth Entrepreneurship Camps Offered
Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) at California State University, Chico and Butte College SIFE will hold their annual Youth Entrepreneurship Camps in Glenn Hall on the CSU, Chico campus. The camps will be run simultaneously in a series of four Saturdays, from 9 a.m.-noon, starting Oct. 5. SIFE’s entrepreneurship camps are free to students grades 5-8.
The selection of students is based on a first-come basis, and, unfortunately, the registration for the fall camps is already closed. However, parents are urged to call SIFE for enrollment in the spring Youth Entrepreneurship Camps.
The Youth Entrepreneurship Camps focus on interactively teaching students the principles of free enterprise and entrepreneurship. Students learn how to make a job rather than take a job by improving their communication, organizational and technological skills. SIFE also will ensure that the students get lessons on ethics and civic responsibility by demonstrating good business practices.
Students attending the camp will be given a scholarship that includes tuition, books, lunches, executive bags, camp T-shirts and a $25 start-up grant to fund each student’s entrepreneurial venture.
SIFE is a student-led organization that integrates free enterprise education and community service into service-learning programs that make a difference in our local, national and global communities. For more information about this event, call SIFE at 530-898-5888.
