California State University, Chico Center for Regional and Continuing Education presents Education Solutions for Dental Professions, a program designed to provide required training, relicensure and continuing education solutions to Northern California dental professionals.

The first two courses in the series, Employment & Labor Law Updates for the Dental Office and Office Safety & Hazard Communication, will be presented on the CSU, Chico campus Friday, October 11. The third course in the series, Infection Control & Bloodborne Pathogen Training, is offered January 10, 2003. All three courses will be offered in January and again in April 2003. Course fees range from $55 to $70.

Each of these courses offers California Board of Dental Examiners continuing education credit. Office Safety & Hazard Communication and Infection Control & Bloodborne Pathogen Training also meet mandatory training requirements. Participants receive extensive course materials, including a disk that contains templates for all the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) plans required for a dental office. This disk is also available for purchase separately.

The program instructors offer students many years’ experience on a variety of important topics. Sherry Starling is a California registered environmental health specialist with more than 20 years’ experience in the environmental safety field as an inspector, consultant and trainer. Diane Morgan is a California teacher with experience in OSHA compliance for dental practices. Jeannie Pittman, an expert in labor law as it is applied in the dental industry, is executive director of the Butte-Sierra District Dental Society.
