Natural History Museum Directors Host Event to Thank Sponsors
The Board of Directors of the Northern California Natural History Museum (NCNHM) at California State University, Chico hosts “The State of the Museum, Thanks to You…” slide talk and tour at the Bidwell Mansion Visitors’ Center on Thursday, March 21, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The event is by invitation only and will include introductions by Judy Sitton, co-founder of Bi-Tech and member of the university advisory board, and university president Manuel Esteban. Professor and board member Ray Barnett will give a museum update, Sierra College professor Richard Hilton will present a slide talk titled “Dinosaurs in Northern California,” and tours of the NCNHM site and Bidwell Mansion will be offered.
“Right now the museum is in small exhibits in very limited facilities in Holt Hall,” Barnett said. “Our celebration will document the commitments and ongoing connections we’ve made to finish the job and have a free-standing museum.”
The event will introduce new board members as well as thank and update supporters of the NCNHM. The proposed museum site is between the Aymer J. Hamilton Building and the Esplanade and construction is expected to be completed by fall 2004.
