Adapted Physical Education Hosts Sports Day
The Adapted Physical Education (APE) Program at California State University, Chico is holding its Second Annual APE Sports Day tomorrow, Nov. 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Acker Gym.
Approximately 80 students from Butte, Sutter, Yuba, Glenn, Tehama and Shasta Counties with visual, hearing or orthopedic disabilities will attend the event. These students will be brought in by their adapted physical education teachers and/or parents to participate in the sports and motor skills day. Activities include goal ball, wheelchair soccer, team handball, off the wall baseball and Nerf football.
Last year more than 80 children with disabilities, 21 parents, 56 university students and 32 teachers/instructional assistants attended event.
