2001 Northern California Tax Practitioners’ Institute Offered
California State University, Chico’s Center for Regional and Continuing Education in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service and the California Franchise Tax Board present the 2001 Tax Practitioners’ Institute. The institute will be held Nov. 13-15 at CSU, Chico from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tuition for the Tax Practitioners’ Institute is $330 for registrations received on or before Nov. 5, $350 for registrations received after Nov. 5. Lunch and workshop materials are included in the registration fee. Following Wednesday’s class, participants are welcome to an afternoon mixer and exclusive tour of Sierra Nevada Brewing Company.
This three-day seminar series has been specifically designed to focus on current topics relevant to the practicing professional and to introduce changes in both federal and state tax laws. This year’s institute will highlight “Offers in Compromise” and how to work with the IRS, legislative updates, and the “Economic Growth and Tax Reconciliation Act of 2001.” Certified public accountants, tax accountants, tax practitioners, enrolled agents, tax lawyers and tax experts from around the region will be interested in the Tax Practitioners’ Institute to keep up-to-date with the current tax codes.
This three-day institute qualifies for credit toward continuing education requirements of the State Board of Accountancy, the Department of Consumer Affairs, and the Internal Revenue Service for enrolled agents. Attendees who participate in the full program will receive 24 hours of continuing education credit.
This year the instructional team is from the Internal Revenue Service and the Franchise Tax Board, as well as practitioners with practical experience in the tax area. All of the team members bring a variety of experiences and a broad knowledge base to the institute.
California State University, Chico, Center for Regional and Continuing Education offers many educational programs and services that not only address the varied needs of the campus and the local Chico community, but also serve individuals across the state, the country and around the world.
