Center for Economic Development Hosts Advanced Environmental Impact Assessment Workshop
On Tuesday, November 14, 2000, the Center for Economic Development (CED) at California State University, Chico, will host an Advanced Environmental Impact Assessment Workshop. The workshop will be held at the Chico Municipal Center, 421 Main Street, Chico, CA, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The goal of the workshop is to provide attendees with a better understanding of what constitutes a legally adequate environmental document and recommended methods used to achieve that goal. It will include information on sources and techniques used to get information for the baseline segments of environmental documents and ways to establish that a reasonable effort has been exerted to meet the goals of CEQA/NEPA.
The workshop is intended for planners/planning commissioners, city council members, county board of supervisors, professional planners, economic developers, the general public, and watershed members/groups. Participants are expected to have prior knowledge, training or experience.
The Center for Economic Development is a community outreach organization which is a part of California State University, Chico Research Foundation. The center is a non-profit organization that provides technical assistance, applied research, and capacity-building assistance to economic development and planning professionals in 20 Northern California counties. The clients served include economic development corporations, economic development districts, community development organizations, local, state, and federal government offices, consulting firms, small business development centers, small businesses and local government officials.
