Butte, Glenn, Tehama, Plumas, and Lassen County Economic Profiles Available
A press conference introducing the County Economic and Demographic Profile 2000 series for Butte, Glenn, Tehama, Plumas, and Lassen counties will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25 at the Center for Economic Development (CED), 35 Main Street, Chico.
The 2000 Profiles are the tenth annual set of profiles the Center for Economic Development, California State University, Chico, has published. A new feature of this year’s profile series is projections of select community indicators.
This year’s profiles contain extensive data on a comprehensive set of categories, including county employment and unemployment rates, wage and salary income by industry, poverty rates, and labor force indicators. The profiles, approximately 50 pages in length and costing $25 each, have been used extensively by local government officials and business leaders to plan for the future.
Dan Ripke, director of the CED, said of the profiles, “We believe this is our best profile series yet. This is the first year we are including our own projections as well as city data for many indicators. This series will be an excellent resource for businesses, community leaders, students, and local community residents.”
The center is a private nonprofit organization specializing in information resources for businesses and communities in Northern California. Their staff expertise includes business administration, public administration, geography, planning and economics.
